美中第11轮经贸高级别磋商10日结束后，美国贸易代表赖海哲发布声明表示，依总统川普指示，美方开始对另外价值约3000亿美元中国输美商品加征关税的程序，基本上是对所有中国输美商品加征关税。
根据新华社报导，中国国务院副总理刘鹤在谈判后向部分媒体指出，谈判并没有破裂，出现暂时的问题不可避免，中方在原则问题上也不会妥协，但双方都有意愿继续保持磋商，并同意未来北京再见面。
报导指出，目前双方在取消全部加征关税、贸易采购数字应当符合实际以及文本平衡性三个中方核心关切的问题上仍存在分歧。
报导写道，“历史和现实已经表明，打打谈谈或将是中美解决经贸摩擦的常态。中方坚决反对贸易战，已经做好全面应对准备，也会理性对待后续磋商。”

赖海哲（Robert Lighthizer）透过声明指出，依川普指示，美国对2000亿美元中国输美商品加征关税税率从10%调高至25%；川普也下令，美方开始对所有中国输美商品加征关税的程序，商品价值约为3000亿美元。
赖海哲表示，将很快发布公告与评论程序，详情将于下周一于美国贸易代表署（USTR）网站公布。
